How to Become a Member

All applications for membership must be accepted by the Membership Committee. The annual subscription must be paid during the first 3 months of each calendar year. The conditions of membership for each category are provided for hereinafter:

 Applicants who fall under this category shall meet the following criteria:

1. Hold a “Fellow” designation from the Society of Actuaries, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, “Qualified Actuary” designation from the Institute of Actuaries in France or any equivalent actuarial professional organization as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors; and 
2. Have five years of proven actuarial experience. 

Each applicant must submit a referral letter: either from a Fellow or Associate member of the Association or from a professional acquaintance who has supervised the applicant for at least two years. 

  Applicants who fall under this category shall meet the following criteria:

1. Hold an “Associate” designation from the Society of Actuaries, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, the Institute of Actuaries in France or any equivalent actuarial professional organization as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors; and 
2. Have three years of proven actuarial experience.

Each applicant must submit a referral letter: either from a Fellow or Associate member of the Association or from a professional acquaintance who has supervised the applicant for at least two years.

Applicants who fall under this category shall meet the following criteria:

1. Hold a university degree in actuarial science or in any related subject as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors; and
2. Hold a senior of middle Management position within a professional organization.
3. Have ten years of proven relevant experience in the actuarial domain or any related domain as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors; and
4. Have a significant professional interest in the Association.

Each applicant must submit a referral letter: either from a Fellow or Associate member of the Association or from a professional acquaintance who has supervised the applicant for at least two years. 

Applicants who fall under this category shall meet the following criteria:

1. Hold a university degree in actuarial science; or 
2. Have a university degree in any related subject as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors and have passed three exams of the Society of Actuaries, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, the Institute of Actuaries in France or any equivalent actuarial professional organization as might be accepted by the LAA’s Board of Directors.

Each applicant must submit a referral letter: either from a Fellow or Associate member of the Association or from a professional acquaintance who has supervised the applicant.
