Welcome to the Lebanese Association Of Actuaries

History

The Lebanese Association of Actuaries (LAA) was founded in 2001 by a group of qualified actuaries: Mr. Pierre Al Chidiac, Mr. Rached Rached, Mr. Ibrahim Muhanna, Mr. Farouk Khattab, Mr. Antoine Wakim, and Mr. Walid Mneimneh.

It was formed to serve as a backbone for the actuarial profession in Lebanon amid a growing need in the country and the Arab world for actuaries. It aims at supporting the continuing development of actuaries and maintaining high professional standards.

The LAA is the only actuarial association in Lebanon and one of the very few in the region. It is headed by a board of directors, consisting of a president, vice-president, and two other board members. There are four designations offered by the LAA: Student, Actuarial Analyst, Associate, and Fellow.

The LAA is a full member association of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) since 2002.
